16-year-old ‘Rolls Royce’ prodigy emerges at Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs is a conveyor belt of promising talent. There’s another prodigy you need to know about in 2024-2025.
Malatji is the latest gifted Chiefs talent
Speaking of DDC talents, Royce Malatji is one you should remember. Amakhosi’s technical team have uncovered another gem. 16-year-old teenage prodigy Royce Malatji has had a taste of first-team training at Naturena and he seems to be a player capable of playing several positions. The most talented youngsters often can. With a name like Royce, perhaps he’s destined for the top. If you’re good enough you’re old enough.
“He is just 16 years old but he is very good. He can play at right back, central defence, right-wing or even as a central midfielder. It doesn’t matter where he plays – he is just good!,” the Siya crew stated on SoccerLaduma.
Dithejane has no regrets after leaving Chiefs
Puso Dithejane and Unathi Mdaka left Naturena because of misconduct over ball-boy duties in October 2023. Now 20, Dithejane has thrived in the number 10 role for TS Galaxy but can also operate in several roles on their right flank. He was integral to their sixth-place finish last term and this season he’s made 10 league appearances, notching up a goal and an assist.
Soweto Derby looms in February
Pirates have held the upper hand in recent meetings between these great Soweto rivals. The Buccaneers have won the last three meetings across all competitions, including each of the last two in the league, most recently that 3-2 success for the Sea Robbers with Saleng bagging a double. That stopped a curious and somewhat surprising run of five consecutive wins for Chiefs in Soweto Derby league clashes with the Sea Robbers. These rivals lock horns again on 01 February at Orlando Stadium.
