What Does a POS Operator Do?
As a Point of Sale (POS) Operator, your main role is to process transactions quickly and accurately while ensuring customers have a smooth shopping experience. You’ll also be responsible for handling payments, issuing receipts, and assisting customers with any questions or concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Transactions: Use the cash register/POS system to scan products and receive payments. Payment Handling: Accept cash, credit/debit cards, coupons, and vouchers. Issue Receipts & Refunds: Provide receipts, change, and process refunds or exchanges when necessary. Boost Sales: Cross-sell products, promote new arrivals, and sell add-ons to increase the average transaction value. Customer Service: Greet customers, resolve complaints, and provide assistance at checkout. Store Maintenance: Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and well-stocked. Stock Replenishment: Assist in restocking shelves and managing product displays. Track Transactions: Maintain balance sheets and report any payment discrepancies.
Who Can Apply?
If you have experience working as a cashier, POS operator, or sales associate, this job is for you! Adidas is looking for enthusiastic and detail-oriented individuals who can work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Minimum Requirements:
5 – 6 years of experience as a retail cashier, sales associate, or POS operator. Grade 12 certificate (or equivalent qualification). Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS systems. Good numeracy skills and accuracy in handling cash. Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and time management skills.
