Requirements

Requirements: The applicant must be in possession of a Senior Certificate with Accounting or equivalent qualification. A minimum of 5 years experience in administration, preferably in finance. Post-matric certificate in financial management or equivalent (finance-related courses). Computer literacy (Internet, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Basic bookkeeping skills. A good numerical and communication skills.

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of public administration, Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, budgeting and expenditure control and other legislation pertaining to Public Finance. Knowledge of procurement prescripts, administrative procedures, and ability to interpret policies. Paying attention to detail. Must be able to work under pressure. Advisory role to end users on contract related matters.

Duties

Main Duties: Liaise with the employees requiring travel arrangements. Prepare monthly creditors reconciliations. Filing of source documents onto the creditor’s files. Receive and process claims. Prepare request for payments Assist with travel arrangements. Booking of airfares and car rentals. Ensure that the bookings are in line with the cost containment Treasury regulations instructions. Assist with solving Audit queries. Any other functions delegated by the Finance Manager.

Umalusi Council Members

Umalusi Council is constituted by the General and Further Education and Training Quality Assurance Act No 58 of 2001 amended in 2008 (GENFETQA Act). The Council Chair and members are appointed by the Minister of Basic Education and consists of 15 members, appointed for their professional expertise in education and training.

In addition to the 15 members, the Chief Executive Officers of the following organizations are members by virtue of their office:

✓ South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA)
✓ The Council on Higher Education (CHE)
✓ Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO)

Umalusi Council is responsible for the development and management of a sub-framework of qualifications for general and further education and training from NQF levels 1-4 and the attendant quality assurance, research and certification processes.

The Council is also tasked with advising the two Ministers of Education on matters related to the General and Further Education and Training Qualifications Framework.
