LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Location:
Peninsula Operation, Contermans Kloof, Durbanville, Western Cape Province
Responsibilities:
- Collect and test concrete samples from plant or site
- Collect and test aggregate samples from site and plant
- Prepare and test hardened concrete samples
- Prepare laboratory sample and conduct testing on aggregate materials
- Prepare raw materials for trial mixes and other ad-hoc concrete tests
- Produce non-conformance and other LIMS reports as required
- Ensure that the lab operates to ISO 9001:2015 standards, relevant procedures and SHE requirements
Experience and Qualifications:
- Grade 12
- Computer literacy (Excel and Word)
- Valid Code 08 Driver’s Licence
- C&CI level 1 and 2 in Concrete Technology would be an advantage
- Understanding of production process and plant set ups would be an advantage
- Competency on routine test – Ready mix concrete and aggregate materials
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Skills and Knowledge:
Previous experience in the sampling and testing of ready mix concrete and aggregate materials within the
construction industry.

Responsibilities:
Providing administrative and general HR support the HR team and the internal customers
Ensuring that all documentation, both electronic and other, is up to date, filed and backed up by
the relevant supporting documentation
Being the first point of contact for all HR admin related queries
Ensuring that SAP HR related data and training data is up to date
Ensuring that training related interventions and events are booked, approved and executed per
procedures
Ensuring that all SAP records are up to date to support accurate and timeous reporting
Participate in HR related projects
Ad Hoc duties as required to support the HR department
Experience and Qualifications:
Grade 12 or Amended Senior Certificate, or National Certificate Vocational Level 4 – HR
Related, or technical Matric – N3 (4 technical subjects + 2 official languages)
Certificate in Human Resources
3 years’ experience in a HR environment
Skills and Knowledge:
High level computer literacy (Excel and Powerpoint)
SAP HR Experience
Customer focused and ability to build relationship
Excellent planning, organising and follow-up skills
High level of attention to detail
High level of teamwork and collaboration
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

Responsibilities:
- Performing periodic supply chain analysis
- Implementing, facilitating and/ or coordinating the roll out of initiatives
- Monitoring supply chain elements to assess performance efficiencies and effectiveness
- Generating reports using data from relevant sources to ensure the compilation of meaningful
information - Undertaking and reviewing assigned projects as and when required
Experience and Qualifications:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering
- 3 years’ experience in applying the principles of Industrial Engineering with some exposure to a supply chain network
- Proficient in drawing information from SAP and other IS systems for analysis purposes
- Good knowledge of techniques for analysis business indicators and data
10.Good understanding of logistical factors that impact the cement industry
11.Understanding end to end supply chain process and the impact of focus areas
12.Understanding of the dynamics that influence the supply chain
13.Knowledge of economic and financial principles related to cost implications
14.Very proficient in using computer software
15.Good written and verbal presentation skills
