Position Overview:

The Enrollment Officer: Marketing is a part of a high-performing and driven Enrollment Team which is responsible for executing the school’s enrollment and marketing strategy at both campuses of the American International School of Johannesburg (Pretoria and Johannesburg).

The Enrollment Officer: Marketing supports the Enrollment Manager in implementing the strategic marketing plan targeting specific markets and representing the school at community engagement, recruiting and promotional events as delegated by the Enrollment Manager.

The position also supports the enrollment and onboarding processes, working closely with other Enrollment Team members, specifically the Enrollment Officer: Admissions, as well as colleagues in other school departments on both campuses.

This includes inquiry handling, parent counseling and campus tours, application and admissions process administration, and data gathering.

The Enrollment Officer: Marketing will ensure their work and interactions support AISJ’s Purpose, Vision and Community Principles.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or other relevant university degree
  • Marketing, sales, consulting, or relationship management experience
  • Driver’s license with reliable transport.
  • Evidence of professional development within marketing or similar
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in marketing, consulting, admissions, enrollment, or relationship management ideally in an international or private educational, or corporate environment in a customer-facing role.
  • Experience developing and executing targeted marketing campaigns and/or collateral to build brand recognition and high-quality lead generation.
  • Experience working with a diverse customer base or community.

  • Extensive IT skills including databases, spreadsheets and presentation packages.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of sales and marketing

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collect relevant education industry data and conduct a competitive analysis in support of the development of the enrollment and marketing strategy.
  • Using the market intelligence gathered and knowledge of the market segments of the school, maintain various channels of marketing in support of a data-driven enrollment strategy.
  • Support Enrollment Manager in Implementing the enrollment marketing strategy and coordinating targeted events to promote the profile of the School to external audiences.
  • Coordinate school’s presence, set up and attendance at promotional events such as education exhibitions in support of the school’s strategic marketing.
  • Ensure prompt follow up of inquiries/leads generated.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with marketing partners in targeted print, digital, outdoor, and other media outlets.
  • Liaise with advertising agencies, designers, and printers.
  • Support social media marketing efforts.
  • Assist with the preparation of enrollment-related reports and data in support of strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Assist with maintenance alumni database.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of alumni engagement activities.
  • Support enrollment process including, but not limited to:
  • Liaise with and correspond with prospective parents on admission inquiries and school placement status.
  • Coordinate school tours/virtual meetings.
  • Oversee student application and coordinate placement assessments for prospective students when applicable.
  • Maintain/update an accurate record of parent/student details in the school’s online application platform and electronic student information systems.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation and information on all aspects of the school are current and readily available.
