Anne Hathaway dazzled in Shanghai this week, proving why she remains a global fashion icon.

The actress graced the opening ceremony of Bulgari’s Infinity Serpents Exhibition in a stunning gold ballgown by Oscar de la Renta.

ANNE HATHAWAY’S GOWN

The gown, which ended just above her ankles, featured a bold strapless neckline and a voluminous skirt, making Hathaway the star of the evening, according to People.

Styled by Erin Walsh, Hathaway complemented her gilded look with jewellery fit for royalty.

She wore Bulgari’s iconic Serpenti diamond earrings, a matching ring, and a shimmering gold collar necklace.

“Anne always knows how to elevate a moment,” Walsh said of the look.

ANNE HATHAWAY AND BULGARI

She paired the ensemble with Christian Louboutin’s gold croc-effect peep-toe heels. This added the perfect touch of glamour.

Jillian Dempsey, her makeup artist, went for glowing skin and rosy tones. “We wanted radiance to match her outfit’s brilliance,” Dempsey said, according to Page Six.

Hairstylist Orlando Pita opted for a sleek low bun with a side part, keeping the focus on Hathaway’s sparkling jewels.

Hathaway, 42, has been a Bulgari ambassador since 2022.

ANNE HATHAWAY’S CHARM

Her debut as the face of the Italian jewellery brand was at Cannes, where she wore the Mediterranean Reverie necklace and a sapphire ring, according to WWD.

Since then, she’s become a regular at Bulgari events, showcasing the brand’s timeless designs.

South African fans of Bulgari might recall the star’s visit to Rome last May.

She stole the show in a white cotton shirtdress designed by Gap’s Zac Posen, paired with millions of rands worth of diamonds.

LUXURY AND HARMONY

The affordable dress, priced at around ZAR 2,900, sold out instantly.

“It was such a unique pairing—simplicity and luxury in perfect harmony,” Hathaway said of the look.

The Shanghai event wasn’t Hathaway’s only headline this week. She went viral for poking fun at fellow actor Jeremy Strong’s outfit at the 2025 Golden Globes.

Strong wore a turquoise bucket hat and a velvet suit, which Hathaway hilariously compared to her character Mia Thermopolis’s look in The Princess Diaries.

MODERN ARTISTRY

She captioned her Instagram post, “Sweetheart, I’m not mad you borrowed it, but I didn’t realise you’d change the colour. Anyway, congrats on your well-deserved nomination!”

The post delighted fans, with one commenting, “The Princess of Genovia acknowledging Jeremy’s look is the energy 2025 needs!”

Another joked, “She’s still the queen of iconic moments.”

Bulgari’s Infinity Serpents Exhibition celebrates the brand’s most exquisite pieces, blending ancient craftsmanship with modern artistry.

AN AMBASSDOR OF ELEGANCE

Hathaway’s presence brought an extra sparkle to the event, reinforcing her role as an ambassador of elegance.

For South African jewellery lovers, Bulgari remains synonymous with luxury. Local fans might not see Hathaway in person, but her appearances inspire style choices globally.

Whether in Shanghai or on the red carpet, Anne Hathaway proves that true glamour knows no boundaries.

After all, as Hathaway herself once said, “Style is about self-expression, not the price tag.”
