Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are looking to reinforce their respective squads for the second half of the season.

Chiefs and Pirates are enjoying different fortunes so far this season, meaning they have different motives to attack the window.

Chiefs and Pirates want to recruit for different reasons

Pirates are currently second on the Betway Premiership table and have a MTN8 trophy in the cabinet. They are also now safely through to the quarter-final of the CAF Champions League. On the other hand, it has been a frustrating, stop/start season for their arch rivals. Chiefs didn’t qualify for the MTN8, got thrashed by Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout Cup too. They also find themselves languishing sixth on the log and devoid of ideas.

That is why both teams are looking to enter the market. One to get closer to league and continental success, and the other to bring back the pride of their club. One of the players both Chiefs and Pirates were rumoured to be interested in last window was Stephane Aziz Ki. Both Soweto giants were believed to be ready to take the player away from Yanga SC before he committed his future to the club.

Aziz Ki a previous target

Now just six-months later, Aziz Ki could be on the move and not to Chiefs or Pirates. According to Soccer-Laduma, citing North African reports, the Burkinabe international could be headed to Wydad Casablanca!

“I have been contacted by Wydad Athletic Club regarding their interest in Aziz Ki, but so far I have not received an official offer from the Moroccan club. The player has no problem moving to Morocco, and he has been following the Moroccan league recently. “I received a previous offer from Al-Masry Club, but the offer was rejected by Young Africans Club.” Said the player’s agent Zambro Traore.

Approached by Mokwena’s Wydad!

Should either Chiefs or Pirates try to hijack any deal taking Aziz Ki to Rulani Mokwena’s Wydad? If so, which of the Soweto giants needs him the most? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below!
