University Project

Identify and develop a database of the relevant tertiary institutions to visit countrywide.
Develop a universities marketing strategy
Establish, build and maintain working relationships with University Heads of Accounting and Career Offices in order to visit their campuses and recruit their students
Ensure sufficient marketing stock for visits
Plan, co-ordinate, travel to and conduct University visits, interacting with under-graduate and post-graduate Accounting students

Skills, Experience & Education

Formal Education:

Minimum requirement: HR related/ BCom Diploma

Preferred: HR related/ BCom Degree.

Knowledge:

Basic excel skills
Presentation skills
General administrative skills

Understanding of the CA(SA) qualification path.
Experience

At least two years’ experience in the recruitment environment, specifically relating to graduates.

Strategic Project Lead: Business Change and Value office

Requirement Overview

The purpose of the role is to set the standard of excellence across strategic projects and programmes. The role ensures strategic oversight, execution, prioritisation and institutionalisation of strategic projects and programmes across the AGSA value chain. The role is also responsible for ensuring the alignment and effective execution of strategic project portfolio management accountabilities, to ensure benefits realisation within the AGSA. The role prioritises strategic initiatives and advises/ recommends on which strategic initiatives should be executed.

Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Function

Contribute to the formulation and drive the implementation of the AGSA’s long term strategy in the Business Change and Value office.
Prioritise strategic initiatives across the AGSA.
Drive institutionalisation of strategic projects across the AGSA.
Drive efforts to institutionalise strategic programmes within AGSA, ensuring ownership and accountability across business units and stakeholders.
Lead the realisation of benefits of strategic projects and programmes across the AGSA value chain.
Influence EXCO structures and interface with PPIC/other relevant committees.

Product Management

Ensure the integration and alignment of strategic projects and programmes across the AGSA.

Direct stakeholders through stage gates to deliver on the benefits realisation mandate of strategic projects and programmes.
Influence EXCO structures, interfacing with the PPIC, and making recommendations for go or no-go decisions based on the Business Change and Value office framework and standards for excellence.
Establish strong relationships with executive leadership and effectively interface with the Programme and Project Investment Committee (PPIC) to drive decision-making aligned with Business Change and Value office objectives.
Collaborate closely with People Portfolio to ensure change management on Business Change and Value office capability is embedded and supporting business on change management guidelines on any strategic projects undertaken.
Provide leadership, oversight and support of key projects and programmes.

People Management

Participate and/ or take lead in the business unit transformation/ culture plans.
Provide support to the management team regarding centre management and other people-related tasks.

Financial Management

Assist in managing and reporting on the centre budget in accordance with the approved finance policies.
Contribute in compiling of the centre budget, implement and monitor the budget for the allocated projects.
Ensure compliance to AGSA policies and procedures.

Skills, Experience & Education

Formal Education

This position requires a minimum NQF Level 8 i.e. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or MBA in Project Management or equivalent.
Experience

Minimum 10+ year’s relevant experience with at least 6 years’ experience operating at a senior management/ executive level in the management of large and complex Digital Transformation, Information Technology and other strategic business-related projects and programs.

Data Scientist – 12 Months Contract

Requirement Overview

The purpose of this role is to lead and support the design and delivery of data analytics/engineering and data science solutions using statistical analysis, machine learning, and data modelling to drive business value by providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis. The incumbent will work closely with key role players within the digital transformation unit to ensure alignment of processes and will further be responsible for investigating and finding patterns and relationships that statistically collate and drive business productivity and efficiency. Roles & Responsibilities

Strategic Function

Contributes to the strategy, vision, and governance of the business intelligence capability.

Support the long-term strategy-level decisions using customer science techniques.

Support the implementation of the centre Balance Score Card (BSC) project and initiatives.

Product Management

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, leveraging successful initiatives, findings, and analytics techniques to benefit stakeholder decision-making.

Using machine learning algorithms and techniques to build predictive models and make data-driven decisions.

Collaborate with the senior data scientist and lead data scientist to build data pipelines using workflow orchestration tools.

Schedule extracts and collaborate with senior scientist to draw data from APIs for analysis.

Implement and train machine learning (ML), predictive analytics, data mining and artificial intelligence (AI) models to perform predictions and forecast behaviour and transactions, via the use of data, to enable the business to be proactive in decision making.

Undertake the processing of structured and unstructured data to utilise in data science activities.

Experience and exposure to cloud solutions.

Experience in developing data mining techniques and models across various algorithm types, understanding use case applicability.

Technical Specialist : Quality Reviewer

Requirement Overview

The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Senior Manager: Technical Audit Support (TAS) responsible for quality support to establish, facilitate, implement, maintain and where necessary improve quality management for all audit, assurance and related services engagements.
The incumbent must ensure AGSA audit, assurance and related engagements adhere to the relevant quality standards, through proactive audit quality reviews (also known as inflight quality reviews) and other relevant audit quality initiatives.
Support the Senior Manager to drive and monitor the implementation of remedial actions from the monitoring results and partake in ISQM initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities

Product Management: Pro Active reviews and audit quality support

  • Keep abreast of changes in audit Quality Management (QM) related audit standards and ensure AGSA compliance at audit engagement level.
  • Assist in development and implementation of audit Quality Support policies and procedures in the operations of the AGSA and ensure compliance with the relevant audit standards.
  • Co-ordinate and implement pro-active reviews that actively respond to audit quality risks and ensure quality on AGSA audits before issuance of audit reports. This can be done on a number of AGSA high profile and significant risk engagements
  • Participate in any other pro-active strategic initiatives to drive the improvement in audit quality before the issuance of audit reports in terms of the AGSA strategy.
  • Analyse transversal Quality Support (QS) findings for each audit cycle and communicate/consult with the audit, and support business units to facilitate corrective action. (Conduct awareness sessions to the different audit business units.)
  • Implement and monitor remedial actions in line with ISQM 1
  • The audit quality reviewer will also be expected to assist the Quality Management business unit (BU) in performing monitoring of QM complience in accordance with the monitoring requirements of the International Standards of Quality Management (ISQM) and specific requirements as determined by the AGSA. These reviews will be performed at the discretion of the BU Leader.

Stakeholder Management

  • Provide QM related technical advice and guidance to top management and auditors in respect of engagement performance and associated processes.
  • Continuously engage with various audit stakeholders and provide the necessary support.
  • Manage own performance.
  • Participate and/or take lead in the BU’s transformation, culture, diversity and employment equity initiatives.
  • Provide support to the Senior Manager with regard to centre management and other business unit tasks.

Skills, Experience & Education

The successful candidate should possess the following:

CA (SA) ;

± Six years’ post-qualification experience (with 3 years at manager role);
± Two years Inspections/ QC reviews experience advantageous;
Public sector audit experience advantageous;
Excellent technical knowledge and experience in auditing and financial reporting standards;
Above average performance and behavioral record.
Detailed knowledge and experience of statutory requirements and standards of the accounting and auditing discipline (e.g. International Standards on Auditing)
