Best Kaizer Chiefs XI with TWO rumoured new signings
Kaizer Chiefs are on the brink of some exciting transfer business which could make their best XI look a little different.
Best Kaizer Chiefs XI with new signings?
Ntwari; Solomons, Miguel, Dortley, Kabini; Mthethwa, Zwane; Duba, Shabalala, Sirino; Lilepo.
Lilepo lands at Naturena for R9.6 million
Makabi Glody Lilepo is a 27-year-old Congolese striker who’s most comfortable operating in the wide right channel. Under the legendary Florent Ibenge, Lilepo bagged five goals in 10 Caf Champions League outings.
Kabini could add youth to the full-back positions
Experienced full-back Bongani Sam was expected to replace the departed Sifiso Hlanti but his Chiefs tenure so far has been a bit of a disaster, owing mainly to injuries. 27-year-old Sam joined in August and is yet to make his senior competitive debut. The club is now monitoring former Pirates academy product, 20-year-old Samukelo Kabini. He currently plies his trade for TS Galaxy and has shown an eye for adventure with two goals from 12 league appearances this term.
DDC striker must wait his turn
Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly handed a three-year contract to teenage DDC striker Naledi Hlongwane. it’s unlikely he’ll play a prominent role this term but it’s a clear vote of confidence in his abilities.
“What I can tell you now is that the promotion process is as good as done. They have already allocated jersey number 35 to him and he travelled with the team to Durban for the game against Sekhukhune United. He was supposed to have played the game but they changed their mind at the last minute,” the SL source stated on SoccerLaduma.
“Yes, coming to the contract, it’s an initial three-year senior team contract and it will run until June 2028. So, yes, things are working out for the youngsters at Chiefs right now,” he added.
The one that got away?
Puso Dithejane and Unathi Mdaka were released owing to misconduct over ball-boy duties in October 2023. Now 20, Dithejane has thrived in the number 10 role for TS Galaxy but can also operate in several roles on their right flank. He was integral to their sixth-place finish last term and this season he’s made 10 league appearances, notching up a goal and an assist.
What do you think of this potential XI? Any changes?
