Bombshell Orlando Pirates vs Saleng update revealed!
There’s been an interesting development in the ongoing saga between Orlando Pirates and their talisman Monnapule Saleng.
Saleng has been a standout performer for the Buccaneers over recent years, however the relationship appears to have turned sour this season.
Saleng has been stealing the headlines as he continues to be sidelined at the club, however senior Soccerbeat reported Peter Du Toit has shed some light on the matter!
Truth about Saleng’s situation at Orlando Pirates revealed?
According to the veteran journalist and former footballer, Orlando Pirates had ‘accepted’ an offer for Saleng from Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Al Ahly were looking to replace Percy Tau at the beginning of the season however, Tau didn’t end up leaving the African powerhouse.
As a result of Tau staying on in Egypt at the time, Al Ahly ended their pursuit of Monnapule Saleng.
Du Toit further went on to claim that Saleng refused to return to training at Orlando Pirates, despite the club playing their part in the ‘potential deal’ to the best of their ability. You can watch the full explanation below.
In other news, Orlando Pirates are challenging on three fronts in the second half of the season.
Having already lifted the MTN8 title, an incredible quadruple remains a possibility for Jose Riveiro’s side.
The Buccaneers are pushing hard to challenge Mamelodi Sundowns in the Betway Premiership.
Furthermore, Jose Riveiro’s side are still competing in the Nedbank Cup and CAF Champions League.
Two more promotions loading at Pirates
According to the latest transfer gossip, two more Diski Challenge players are set to be promoted to the Orlando Pirates first team.
Jose Riveiro needs as much depth as possible with a full schedule looming, and two reserve team talents are set to be gradually introduced to his squad.
According to local publication Soccer Laduma, Neo Mokoena (winger) and Mbekezeli Mbokazi (defender) have both been earmarked for first team roles in Mayfair.
The duo are already in first team training and have reportedly impressed Jose Riveiro.
