Function: Marketing

Reports to: Insights Manager Vapour

Level: Junior Management

The role holder will lead trade research and interpretation of insights through data analysis from (Retail audit, Store observation studies, Illicit studies, and right execution studies) to support decision-making and improve functional processes. This position requires a combination of analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills. The Insights Executive will be the key driver to provide insights on category and brand performance measurement (distribution, availability, offtakes, and volume share) and competitor reviews/in-depth analysis and tracking of total Combustibles.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide effective support to Insights Lead for research project set ups for strategic research studies, handling internal partners for proposal and questionnaire finalization, LEX approval and leading agencies and handling results delivery.
  • Synthesize primary and secondary research and provide insights into category / brand performance / purchase drivers through strong analytical and storytelling skills.
  • Preparing reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Provide category and brand performance measurement and competitor reviews / in depth analysis and tracking.
  • Collaborate with planning, trade, digital teams to develop important metric dashboards, driving efficient and effective business priorities and decision making.
  • Data mining or extracting useable data from different data sources. Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • Collate and analysing different sources of data to generate insights to inform and/or address business questions.
  • Analysing large amounts of data with an aim of finding patterns that can be used to predict future trends.
  • Build algorithms to merge, interrogate, and manage data extracts required by internal stakeholders.
  • Identify valuable data sources and automate collection processes to ease pressure from time consuming data extraction.
  • Ensure insights trackers & dashboards are refreshed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Delivery on data queries and extracts required by the different internal stakeholders on ad hoc basis.
  • Perform robust checks on data delivered by research agencies, ensuring accuracy before release of the data to business.
  • Assist Insights Managers as and when required to deliver on collation of data inputs, updating of presentations and managing of research projects.

What are we looking for?

General skills required.

  • Experienced in performing a range of qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Understanding of research methodologies and solid analytic skills including ability to synthesize information, identify trends, reduce complexity, and identify key opportunities.
  • Strong analytic skills & critical/creative thinking skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (PowerPoint / Excel)
  • Project management experience and strong planning & prioritization skills

Functional skills required.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and extract meaningful insights.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Education / Qualifications / Experience Required

  • Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerApps and Power Point – mandatory. Power Bi or other data analysis tools – added advantage.
  • Familiarity with reporting and visualization tools
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the field (preferably within FMCG)

The Procurement Business Manager supports Area Procurement Business Manager to partner with senior local Leadership team to drive Procurement strategy in alignment with cluster and DRBU Strategy.
