SENIOR IT MANAGER

SENIOR IT MANAGER (PERMANENT)
Broadband Infraco, is a long distance national and international optic fibre connectivity network infrastructure provider based in Radiokop, seeks to appoint a suitable candidate to the following employment opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to Chief Technical Officer, the incumbent will:

  • Development of the company’s IT strategy in alignment with overall business goals.
  • IT Infrastructure Management oversee the planning, Implementation and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure including servers, networks, hardware, and software.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and cost effectiveness, monitor and control IT related expenses.
  • Cyber Security and compliance – develop and implement IT security policies and procedures to safeguard company data, information and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage IT support and Helpdesk.
  • Disaster Recovery and business continuity Management – Develop and maintain a comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Implement and Manage systems for performance Monitoring and reporting.
  • Draft RFOs, RFPs
  • Monitor budget performance on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Implement and Manage knowledge management systems.
  • Develop and implement information security policies.
  • Establish business intelligence tools encompassing data mining, extraction, dissemination of information.
  • Provision of tools to manage applications.
  • Team Leadership and Development of IT team – provide resources in terms of application specialists, database administrators.
  • Innovation – Identify emerging technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential to enhance business processes, service delivery, and customer experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (required). Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT management roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership position.
  • Industry recognised certifications such as PMP, ITIL, CCNP, CISSP, and relevant vendor specific certifications. Extensive experience in leading and managing IT teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and software.
  • Demonstrate success in implementing innovative IT solutions.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER (PERMANENT)

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chief Engineer the incumbent will:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of new fibre and wireless broadband products.
  • Design scalable and reliable broadband solutions for enterprise, wholesale, and residential customers.
  • Develop and improve product features based on customer needs and emerging technologies.
  • Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept and prototyping to deployment and performance monitoring.
  • Continuously analyse product performance and implement upgrades to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee product testing, including lab and field trials, to ensure service reliability and performance standards.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and customer needs.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to align product development with market demand.
  • Recommend strategic product development initiatives based on data analysis and market forecasts.
  • Work closely with network engineers, customer solution engineers and operations teams to integrate new products into the company’s infrastructure.
  • Liaise with vendors and technology partners.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, user guides, and installation procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement in the company’s product portfolio, focusing on efficiency, performance, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in product development or engineering, ideally in a telecommunications or broadband company.
  • Strong background in fibre optic and wireless technologies, IP products, and networking protocols such as BGP, MPLS, IPv4/IPv6.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience with internet and broadband products, including SD-WAN, cloud services, and network security solutions.
  • Knowledge of core network design, IP backbone, fibre networks (DWDM and OTN), and wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager: OD, Performance Management & Learning, the incumbent will:

  • Provide administrative support for Human Resource Development related initiatives namely training & development, performance management, induction.
  • Ensure that all logistical arrangement with regard to venues, refreshment and invitations etc, are done timely.
  • Ensure that HRD database is up to date, accurate and compliant with the legislation.
  • Process Purchase Requisitions for training request and other HRD related requirements and ascertain correctness of invoices before payment.
  • Verify training requests against the training plan.
  • Prepare packs for the Skills Development Committee prior to processing employee study assistance and other HRD related committees
  • Prepare and transmit correspondences with service providers.
  • Make inputs into the consolidated monthly and quarterly training reports.
  • Maintain an update filling system of all HRD relevant documentation
  • Co-ordination of the Internship Programme and its activities through liaison with interns tertiary Institutions & SETA

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum three-year National Diploma in Human Resources Management or Human Resources Development. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, or related.
  • SDF certification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in HR, focusing on Learning & Development, Organizational Development.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint) and must be able to perform V-lookup and Pivot tables
  • A proactive and detail-oriented approach to work, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • HRIS systems — experience of working on Sage/VlP system is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment
