PRINCIPAL CLERK: RECORDS
Job Profile:
- Provide effective administrative support ensuring the maintenance of institutional records and intellectual property in adherence to procedures of the Cape Winelands District Municipality
- Responsible for capturing of incoming and outgoing mail and emails on Collaborator, as well as
distribution thereof to the applicable official(s) - Responsible for the safe keeping of contracts, agreements, lease agreements, deeds of transfer and
business plans in securities, as well as vehicle licences and vehicle registration certificates - Responsible to maintain contracts, agreements and business plans by removing such items from active filing system ad archive it once these items reach the expiry dates
- Responsible for regular updating of Destruction Register
- Responsible for maintaining the electronic filing system on Collaborator, including opening of new files on Collaborator
- Ensure proper execution of tasks of subordinate
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Computer Literacy: MS Office
- 1 – 3 years’ relevant administrative experience
- Experience in the fields of paper-based and electronic records management
- Physically fit and healthy
- Attention to detail
- Ability to adhere to set procedures
- Good communication skills and sound interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately, under pressure and with confidential information
- Knowledge of storage and retrieval procedures
Salary band: R198 480 – R257 556 per annum

Job Purpose:
The Public Relations Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Division: Communications by engaging in a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing our brand presence and communication efforts. The intern will:
- Attend and write articles on events, capturing key moments and insights
- Assist with the erection and dismantling of branding materials at events to ensure effective visibility
- Contribute to the development of visual media suitable for both digital and print platforms
- Manage, update, select, edit, and archive articles on our website and network
- Downloading, uploading, sorting, and editing of photography
- Conduct interviews and take photos to support our storytelling initiatives
- Edit photos and video clips to produce high-quality visual content
- Develop creative storyboards for use by the graphic designer
Requirements:
- National Diploma/Degree in Public Relations, Communications or similar qualification
- Valid driver’s licence
- Computer Literacy in – Windows Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), digital photography & videography, video compilation and editing and understanding of Adobe InDesign will be advantageous
- Excellent research and interpretation skills
- Attention to detail, ability to write, read and speak two of the three official languages of the Western Cape
- Sound interpersonal relations
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and set priorities
- Good time and project management skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Preparedness to work after hours and some weekends

SHIFT COMMANDER
Job Profile:
- Perform functions in terms of the Fire Brigade Services Act and the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act
- Ensure effective incident management
- Supervision of subordinates to ensure operational readiness and functioning of shifts
- Provide assistance and guidance to personnel to ensure effective, efficient and safe execution of tasks
- Responsible for planning, management and reporting of daily activities
- Implement and monitor work and maintenance schedules and training routines
- Carry out fire safety inspections and planning for prescribed burning regarding fire breaks
- Execute regular asset verification of all property, plant and equipment
- Implementation and enforcement of community safety by-laws and other applicable codes, regulations and legislation
in order to create a fire-safe community - Responsible for activities regarding operations and emergency incident management, inclusive of operational
incidents, rescue and first aid services, hazardous materials incidents and humanitarian services - Maintain operational readiness of vehicles and equipment and maintain buildings
Requirements:
- 6 years operational experience of which 2 years must be at Senior Firefighter level
- Pump Operator/Aerial Appliance qualification
- Fire Prevention course
- Fire Investigation
- Fire Service Instructor I
- High Angle Rescue I
- Higher Certificate in fire technology (fire services)
- Code C1 driver’s licence
- Peace Officer course
- Fire Officer I
- Computer Literacy (MS Office)
- Must be physically fit and healthy
- Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to function effectively in stressful situations and handle dangerous and traumatic conditions
- Must be willing to work overtime and perform standby duty
Salary band: R394 632 – R512 256 per annum
