Job Description

As a Cashier at Brights Hardware, your role is all about giving customers a smooth and friendly checkout experience. You’ll handle cash, process card payments, and make sure every purchase is processed correctly. Your goal? Keep customers happy and help the business grow!

Key Responsibilities

 Greet customers warmly as they enter the store.
 Handle cash and card payments following proper procedures.
 Ensure correct pricing when ringing up sales.
 Pack customer purchases neatly into bags.
 Monitor cash transactions to prevent errors or fraud.
 Perform daily cash-ups and hand over cash drops securely.
 Be alert for suspicious activity to maintain store security.
 Stay updated on promotions and special discounts.
 Assist customers with reward cards and gift vouchers.
 Keep your workspace clean and organized at all times.
 Help with stock takes when needed.
 Perform other store duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

 Matric Certificate (or equivalent).
 At least 1 year of experience as a cashier or in a similar role.
Must have completed Brights Hardware Induction (Service Excellence).
 Good credit record (no financial issues).
 Great customer service skills – friendly and approachable.
 Strong attention to detail – no room for mistakes at the till!
 Team player mindset – work well with others.
 Ability to work under pressure in a busy retail environment.
 Basic math skills to handle cash transactions accurately.
 Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
