Chiefs news: Fans unhappy with striker; Nabi set to leave?
Kaizer Chiefs fans have had enough of the misfiring Tashreeq Morris, arguably the club’s most questionable summer signing.
The 30-year-old has yet to open his account after five games at the club, raising concerns about why AmaKhosi landed the former SuperSport United striker.
Before the January transfer window, Nasreddine Nabi made his wish list clear: a prolific forward.
The Glamour Boys may have found it with Makabi Lilepo, who made it two goals in his first four games on Tuesday, but it’s hard to see what they saw in Morris, who has scored an underwhelming 33 goals in his 209-game career.
Nabi defends Morris
Following Chiefs’ crushing 4-1 defeat to SuperSport United earlier this week, Nabi, knowing Morris was facing public scrutiny, came to his player’s defence, saying, “today’s game was an exception, and we cannot evaluate players on one game,
“We have to evaluate players on the many games they play. Today’s team was very tired,
“It’s an exceptional game, bus as I said, we cannot evaluate players just on this game. This game should not be used as a reference,
“In the previous game, Tashreeq gave his all, he gave all his energy, and you could see today that it has impacted his physical strength.”
Coach on the way out?
According to reports, Tunisia have shortlisted Nabi as a candidate for their national coaching position, fuelling speculation of a shock move.
What should Kaizer Chiefs do about Nabi?
