Your Role at Clicks

As a Shop Assistant / Cashier, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring our customers feel welcomed and satisfied. Your responsibilities will include:

• Point of Sale Excellence: Efficiently handle POS activities, ensuring smooth transactions and accurate scanning of merchandise.
• Customer Engagement: Promote the Clicks ClubCard, enrolling new members to boost participation and make customers aware of ongoing promotions.
• Cash Handling: Ensure all cash is managed securely and responsibly.
• Merchandising: Keep the store visually appealing by maintaining merchandising standards and housekeeping duties.
• Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest products, promotions, and store events to assist customers effectively.

What You’ll Bring

To excel in this role, you need:

• Knowledge:
  • Basic math skills
  • Retail or FMCG experience, especially in merchandising and promotions
  • Understanding of stock management and customer service best practices
• Skills:
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent customer service orientation
  • Effective communication skills
  • Computer literacy and numeracy
• Competencies:
  • Essential: Ability to relate and network with others, follow instructions, and deliver results while meeting customer expectations.
  • Desirable: Skills in working with people, persuading, influencing, and handling pressures and setbacks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: Prior experience in a customer-facing role within retail or FMCG is preferred.
• Education:
  • Essential: Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Desirable: Achieved at least 50% in both Maths and English at Grade 12 level.
