Confirmed: Kaizer Chiefs to replace Gaston Sirino

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi is facing a massive decision in the game against Mamelodi Sundowns.

According to the Premier Soccer Laduma, Sundowns will host Amakhosi in a Betway Premiership match on Saturday, 1 March from the Lucas Moripe Stadium at 15:30. As part of the build-up to the game, Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that the 34-year-old forward Sirino will be out suspended. “Chiefs will be without Gaston Sirino in this match after he picked up a red card in Amakhosi’s last match, against SuperSport United,” the club revealed on its website.

GAVIN HUNT ON AMAKHOSI DISAPPOINTMENT

Kaizer Chiefs’ former coach Gavin Hunt has once again explained why it did not happen for him at the mighty Amakhosi in 2021.

Speaking to the media after his 1000-match milestone as a coach, the four-time league champion said he was desperate to find a new job after Bidvest Wits went defunct.

Additionally, he arrived at Kaizer Chiefs to find the team in urgent need of a rebuilding but management did not deliver the support.

“Very disappointing for me because, you know, in my time in the 80s they were the biggest club,” Hunt told iDiski Times. “They are still the biggest club in South Africa in terms of support base. But for me, it was the wrong time, the wrong place. It was a forced move. It was during Covid and Wits had just been sold, and I was the only one without a job after the players were bought by different clubs at the end of the season.
