Baseline:

•    NQF 6 in Engineering
•    Exceptional communication skills
•    Deep knowledge of in depth petrochemical engineering portfolio

•    Diploma in Engineering
•    Ability to work successfully in an ever-changing environment and navigate ambiguity
•    Demonstrated ability to manage projects at a portfolio level.

What You Will Be Doing

CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT
•      Management of day to day activities of contractors (Principal and Sub-Contractors) 

•    Manage technical queries and escalate to the project manager as applicable

•    Manage monthly payment certificates in accordance with works executed

•    Quality assurance during construction including contractor quality control plan

•    Maintain daily construction logs/site diary
•    Ensure work procedures and safety procedures are adhered to
•    Approval of all payment certificates (confirmation of measurements, records of rain delays,
approved VO’s/site instructions etc.)
•    Monitor performance of construction contractor(s) against the construction program and
contract
•    Prepare and submit progress reports monthly/weekly Review of contractors quality control program
•    Assistance in resolving technical queries/project related queries
•    Maintaining change order logs, site query logs and other project related documents

SAFETY MANAGEMENT
•    Collaborate with Project Manager, Site Supervisors,  Contractors and Safety Agents to address on site safety concerns and implement effective solutions

•    Serve as a resource and point of contact for safety related enquiries and concerns from personnel at site

•    Monitor and assess site safety performance and adherence to safety standards and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement

•    Ensure HSEQ audit (tier 1’s, weekly, monthly ) findings and gaps are closed off within recommended time frames

•    Have a bi-weekly hseq site meeting with all onsite contractors and safety officer / agents to discuss performance, issues etc

•    Assist PTW issuer with the planned works for the week and ensure the risks are identified and captured as part of the PTW document for this period. 

•    Promote a positive safety culture by recognizing and rewarding safe behaviours and encouraging open communication about safety issues

•    Participate in construction planning meetings to identify potential safety risks and develop mitigation strategies

STAKEHOLDER INTERFACE
•    Ensure cross-functional processes are managed and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
•    Liaise with internal customers and ensure effective communication 

HSEQ COMPLIANCE
•    Ensure effective maintenance of HSE records and support compliance with HSEQ Management System
•    Ensure compliance with ZETO rules in work environment
