Controversial Limpopo rapper Shebeshxt sparks outrage after allegedly discharging firearm in public
Shebeshxt, a rapper from Limpopo known for his provocative behavior, has once again captured public attention. This time, a viral video allegedly shows him discharging a firearm in public as he drove away from fans after a booked gig.
The video, which has generated thousands of reactions and comments, adds another chapter to the rapper’s controversial legacy.
The Viral Incident
The incident, which occurred under unclear circumstances, has yet to be addressed by Shebeshxt. In the footage, he appears to fire a gun while driving away from fans who were reportedly nagging him. The lack of specifics about where and when the event took place has not deterred public discourse, with many criticizing the rapper’s actions.
This is not an isolated incident for Shebeshxt, whose reputation is closely tied to similar controversies. Publicly discharging a firearm has become an infamous part of his persona, making this latest video unsurprising to those familiar with his history.
A History of Legal Troubles
Shebeshxt has faced legal challenges over firearm-related offenses in the past. In 2023, the rapper was charged with two counts of discharging a firearm after allegedly firing shots at a family home in Ga-Mamaola village, Limpopo. Despite the serious nature of the allegations, the Lebowakgomo Regional Court eventually dropped the charges.
Following the court decision, Shebeshxt expressed his relief on social media, saying, “I was in court. The charges relating to me pointing people with guns have been dropped. I am not sure how that happened, but they have been dropped.”
However, this was not his only brush with the law. Later that year, he was accused of pulling a gun on a fan during a performance, further cementing his controversial reputation.
Public Backlash and Calls for Accountability
The latest incident has reignited public calls for law enforcement to hold Shebeshxt accountable. Many fans and critics have taken to social media to demand stricter action against the rapper, arguing that his repeated offenses set a dangerous precedent.
Some believe that Shebeshxt’s behavior reflects a lack of respect for public safety, while others see it as an extension of the persona that fuels his fame. Either way, the rapper remains a polarizing figure in South African entertainment.
A Troubled Past
Before his rise to fame, Shebeshxt openly admitted to engaging in criminal activities to support his family. During an interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, he detailed his past involvement in shoplifting, mugging, and other crimes.
“Honestly, I stopped doing crime. I used to do it to feed my child. I didn’t steal cars, but I went where others couldn’t. Honestly, I wanted money. I could enter a store and shoplift with a gun or knife. I would carry big knives. It wasn’t only shoplifting. I stole things. I mugged people. I had a lot of phones,” Shebeshxt revealed.
While he claims to have left that life behind, his recent actions suggest that elements of his past may still influence his present behavior.
Reckless Driving and Personal Tragedy
Shebeshxt’s troubles are not limited to firearm-related offenses. In 2024, the rapper was involved in three serious car accidents, including a fatal crash that claimed the life of his daughter.
The fatal accident occurred on the R37 road near Smelters Mine outside Polokwane. This devastating loss has left a lasting mark on Shebeshxt’s life, but it remains unclear whether it has prompted any meaningful change in his behavior.
The Road Ahead
Shebeshxt’s latest controversy has sparked widespread debate about accountability and the influence of public figures. While his music continues to attract a loyal following, his repeated legal troubles risk overshadowing his career.
As fans and critics await further developments, one thing is clear: Shebeshxt’s actions continue to polarize South Africa, raising questions about fame, responsibility, and the line between art and real life.
