Introduction

We are offering an exciting internship opportunity for a junior software developer to become highly skilled in sought-after platforms as well as training in understanding business processes and helping formulate and test software solutions. 

This is a one-year Internship for newly minted developers who would like to apply their skills in the fast-growing online marketing and web analytics field.  

Tasks would include writing scripts to automate campaign management, implementing dynamic tracking of web events as well as scripts to extract data for reporting and analysis using AI tools.  

We will also provide training as a digital campaign manager to give you domain expertise.

Role and responsibilities

  • Develop scripts to manage marketing campaigns.
  • Extract data from platforms such as Google, Meta, TikTok, etc., using APIs.
  • Implement scripts to monitor both in-app and web events.
  • Stay updated on the latest changes and advancements in API implementations across marketing, tracking, and reporting platforms, and help integrate new solutions.
  • Oversee campaign management using the automated tools you create.
  • Write scripts for data cleaning and utilise BI and AI tools for data processing.
  • Work on generative AI scripting and integration.
  • Serve as a business analyst to assist in designing software solutions.

Requirements

  • Qualification in programming and a three-year degree or diploma or NQF Level 5 National Certificate.  
  • Languages required: javascript, python. 
  • Knowledge of PHP or working on platforms such as WordPress and Magento would be beneficial as well as knowledge of SQL, HTML, and  CSS.  
  • Passion for digital marketing and a desire to specialise in PPC

The internship

  • The internship is full-time. 
  • It is 12 months long and commences in September 2024 (date TBC).
  • Cape Town-based – Hybrid internship 
  • We provide full training and the opportunity to write all Google Ads and Facebook certifications. 
  • You will learn how to set up and manage PPC campaigns, apply Analytics and perform in-depth reporting.
