‘Crazy money for him now’ – Appollis to skip Chiefs and Pirates?

Oswin Appollis has several admirers, including Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, who have both been hassling to sign the Bafana winger for months.

A deal with the Glamour Boys was nearly cemented before the season commenced but was blocked by Polokwane Chairman Johnny Mogaladi who was absent during the last week of the winter window.

However, the Chiefs remained persistent and still hope to bring him to Soweto—but, unlike the offseason, the Pirates do, too.

Neither looks likely to sign Appollis this January due to Rise and Shine’s lack of time to find a suitable replacement, which would have to be sorted before they let their top talent go.

If either of the Soweto outfits were to sign him now, it would cost substantially more, as it is in the middle of the season, and the Limpopo team knows how badly they want the 23-year-old.

“It won’t be easy for them [Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates] in January,” KickOff confirmed.

“A deal in January leaves the club little chance to find a replacement. So, there is already that. Then if it’s a local team, then that’s another problem, you see. But it’s football, anything happens, but it would be crazy money for him now.”

Mashiane heading to Stellies?

Six year servant Happy Mashiane has 64-caps to his name for Kaizer Chiefs but looks set to add no more as AmaKhosi continue to cut their roster in order to free up cash flow and sign more stars.

“Chiefs will be willing to allow Happy Mashiane to move, especially if they succeed in getting some of their targets,’ SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“The boy has been unlucky with lack of game, but he remains one of the best for his position. Stellenbosch is monitoring his situation.”
