About East London Industrial Development Zone Bursary

East London Industrial Development Zone is accepting applications for 2025 academic year bursaries.

Eligibility Criteria

Geographical Location:

Area of Study:

Bursaries are for full-time undergraduate studies in recognized South African universities.
Fields of study must be in Mathematics, Science, or Technology.

Financial Need:

Emphasis is placed on providing assistance to disadvantaged learners. A financial needs assessment will be conducted for shortlisted applicants.

Academic Record:

A minimum of 60% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy).
A minimum average of 60% in all other subjects during the June and November examinations for 2024 matriculants.
Applicants must possess a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with the required grades if they have already completed Grade 12.

Proof of application to a South African university and a University Acceptance or provisional acceptance letter is required.

Bursary Conditions

The bursary is a full-time study award that is renewable, contingent on maintaining a 60% average.
Bursary holders must participate in progress monitoring interviews throughout the bursary term (quarterly/annually).
Incomplete or incorrectly filled application forms will result in disqualification.
Faxed applications will not be accepted.
The bursary, valued at R50,000, covers: Registration and tuition fees, Prescribed books and approved study materials.
