Job Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a technical field Hands-on experience in construction, maintenance, or general labor is a plus
Key Responsibilities
As a Utilityman (General Worker) at Eskom, you will:
Use tools and equipment – Work with power tools and hand tools to complete tasks Maintain safety and quality – Follow strict SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality) standards Perform cabling and construction work – Assist in substation maintenance and construction services Work at heights – Must be comfortable working at elevated locations Housekeeping duties – Keep work areas clean and organized
Must-Have Skills & Competencies
Physical stamina – Able to handle physically demanding tasks Time management – Complete tasks on time and efficiently Technical knowledge – Ability to identify and use tools & equipment Team player – Work well with others in a fast-paced environment Problem-solving skills – Handle challenges and find quick solutions Basic safety knowledge – Understanding of OHSA regulations and workplace safety Strong communication skills – Able to follow instructions and work with supervisors & team members
