USAF Project Supervisor
Salary: R 68,978.70 per month
Duration: 01 December 2024 – 28 March 2025 (four months contract)
Propose of the Job: To provide leadership and support in developing and implementing USAF projects and critical multifunctional projects that support the strategic objectives of the USAF mandate. The successful candidate will be based at the ETDP SETA’s Head Office in Johannesburg. The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
Qualification, experience and knowledge required:
- Be in possession of the B Com Degree in Accounting with completed audit articles.
- At least two (2) years’ post-audit article experience with experience in project management as a Project Team Lead or
Project Manager required. - Extensive experience, a thorough working knowledge ofcomputerised accounting systems, administration, and advanced
computerskills in MS Office and advanced Excel skills are necessary. - Strong service-orientated approach.
- Must be able to use own initiative and handle pressure.
- Experience in dealing with audit engagements, both internal and external auditorsis a prerequisite.
- Must have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the PFMA, Treasury regulations, the Preferential Procurement
Policy Framework, and related instructions notes, circulars, etc., Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP),
SETA Grant Regulations, SkillsDevelopment Act and Skills Development Levies Act. - A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel is essential.
Personal Attributes and Skills:
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Must be a self-driven individual with the following skills: Strategic capability and leadership, Finance Management, and
Project Management. - In addition, the individual must have problem-solving, analytical, and excellent interpersonal skills, meet strict
deadlines, work under pressure, and pay attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conceptualisation and implementation of the USAF projects’ strategy for the organisation.
- Review and verification of supporting documents for discretionary grants transactions (bursaries) to determine the
validity of the service provider’s claims. - Review of the learner database for overall accuracy and reconciliation of data.
- Review the supporting documents for alignment with SETA bursary requirements per the MoA with the service
provider and learner Letter of Award (LoA) (where applicable). - Documentation of identified gaps and follow-up.
- Client liaison and manage strategic partnerships with key stakeholders participating in USAF projects of the ETDP SETA.
- Assist in following up on the gaps identified by the team.
- Daily team supervision, coaching, and guidance by providing oversight and professional support in implementing USAF
projects. - Management of all relevant stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered within the agreed-upon timeframe.
- Preparation of status update reports and presentations for team and client updates.
- Any ad-hoc work as allocated by the USAF Project Leader.

USAF Project Administrators – Ten (10) Positions
Salary: R34 382.75 per month
Duration: 01 December 2024 – 31 March 2025 (four months contract)
Job Purpose: To coordinate and implement project activities and efficiently execute the USAF project. The successful candidates will report to the Project Supervisor, and the positions will be based in ETDP SETA Head Offices in Johannesburg. The successful
candidate must meet the following minimum requirements:
Qualification, experience and knowledge required:
- A National Diploma in Financial Accounting or Financial Management.
- At least three (3) years experience working in a finance or auditing environment
- Computer literate (MS Word, Excel, Outlook), including skills in SharePoint, OneDrive, and MS Teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task many things from many people.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines under challenging circumstances.
- Ability to work independently with high ethical standards and effectively in a team
- Ability to confidentially interact at all levels within and outside the ETDP SETA.
- Be proactive, trustworthy and highly output-driven individual.
- Good time management and Interpersonal relations skills
- Decision-making and conflict management skills
- Be creative/innovative.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Review of the supporting documents for alignment with SETA bursary requirements per the Memorandum of Award (MoA)
with the service provider and learner Letter of Award (LoA) (where applicable). - Verifies supporting documentation to ensure authenticity.
- Captures and files discretionary grant transactions.
- Document identified gaps and follow up with the client.
- Promptly and attentively respond to customer requests within established parameters and time frames.
- Any ad-hoc work as allocated by the Project Supervisor or Project Leader.
