Job Purpose
Provides authorized users the right to use eThekwini Municipality IT systems and services that the
municipality hosts, while preventing access to non-authorized users.

This post reports to MANAGER (IT SECURITY)

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Administer access to the various data systems.
  • Participates in the reviewing of Standard Operating Procedures and Guidelines.
  • Provides Technical support to users for access incidents.
  • Provides information with regards to system audits as directed.
  • Provide user support on security.
  • Conducts periodic system clean-up.

  • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related field.
  • 3 years relevant experience

Responsible for the installation, configuration, monitoring and administration of information
Technology security Systems for the Municipality.

This post reports to MANAGER (IT SECURITY)

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Maintain, Control and operate the server and application security systems and infrastructure.
  • Implement IT security systems and fault management support procedures for assigned
    systems.
  • Monitor IT systems.
  • Analyse logs to help the Municipality by being proactive in its security methodology.
  • Monitor the security posture of IT systems and advice on weaknesses identified and provide
    recommendations for improvements.
