Evicted Big Brother Mzansi’s Ash-Ley Ogle gifted over R150,000 in donations by fans
Former Big Brother Mzansi contestant Ash-Ley Ogle may have left the reality show, but her devoted fan base remains as strong as ever. The 26-year-old reality TV personality has been overwhelmed by the immense support she has received from fans after her unexpected eviction from the show.
Since her exit, Ash-Ley has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help her get back on her feet, and donations have been pouring in from fans who want to see her succeed.
Unexpected Eviction and Fan Support
Unlike most contestants who are eliminated through fan voting, Ash-Ley’s Big Brother journey was cut short due to a peer vote. This left many fans disappointed, as they didn’t have the chance to vote for her to stay in the game.
Her GoFundMe campaign statement explained the situation:
“Unfortunately, her stay was cut short not from the usual process of elimination by fans but from votes from her peers in the house. This cut short her experience, and people who support her all over the world would like to pool in resources to help her build her life back up.”
The response to her campaign has been overwhelmingly positive, with donations totaling over R150,000 since its launch. The largest single donation—an impressive R11,000—was made by an anonymous supporter.
As of now, 282 donations have been made, but the campaign is still far from its ambitious R900,000 target. Despite this, Ash-Ley remains hopeful that she will be able to move forward and rebuild her career with the backing of her loyal supporters.
How She Was Evicted from Big Brother Mzansi
Ash-Ley was a strong contender for the R2 million prize, but her journey came to an unexpected end when contestants were instructed to vote for the housemate they wanted to see evicted.
She ended up tied with fellow contestant Nsuku, both receiving four votes each. The Head of House, Swiss, was given the power to break the tie, and he ultimately chose to evict Ash-Ley.
Her sudden departure was a major shock to both her and her fans, as she had built a strong presence in the house by staying true to herself.
Reflecting on Her Big Brother Mzansi Experience
Speaking to IOL about her Big Brother journey, Ash-Ley described it as an emotional rollercoaster filled with surprises.
“It kept on surprising me from the time I submitted my audition video up until the day I left the house. It was full of surprises because, at first, I didn’t think I was going to get in. I didn’t even think my audition video was good enough,” she shared.
Her ability to stay authentic and real throughout her time in the house won over many fans, which is why so many have chosen to support her after her exit.
Exciting Plans for the Future
Despite the disappointment of her eviction, Ash-Ley is excited about what the future holds. She has ambitious plans to pursue acting, scriptwriting, and fashion, and she is eager to make her mark in the entertainment industry.
Her fans won’t have to wait long to see her again, as she is gearing up for her first public appearance since leaving Big Brother. Ash-Ley will be part of The Love Tour, which will take place at The Playhouse in Durban on 1 March.
This event will give her supporters an opportunity to see her in person and celebrate the next chapter of her journey.
Fans Continue to Show Love
Since her eviction, fans have flooded social media with messages of encouragement, expressing their admiration for her resilience and determination. Many believe that her exit from Big Brother Mzansi is only the beginning of a much bigger career.
One fan wrote on Twitter:
“Ash-Ley Ogle may have left the house, but she has left a mark on all of us. This is just the beginning of her story!”
Another supporter commented:
“She stayed true to herself the entire time. I’m proud to support her as she moves forward.”
With her strong work ethic, undeniable talent, and unwavering fan base, Ash-Ley Ogle is well on her way to turning this setback into an opportunity for even greater success.
