Farm Assistant Job Opportunity at Agricultural Research Council

 Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fruit Tree and Grape Management:
    • Pruning, suckering, canopy management, and harvesting of fruit trees and grapes.
  2. Orchard Work:
    • Assist in planting new commercial and research blocks, including trees, trellis, and irrigation systems.
    • Form tree structures and manage growth.
  3. Irrigation and Fertilization:
    • Apply irrigation, fertilizers, chemical sprays, and cover crops as per instructions.
  4. Farm Maintenance:
    • Maintain security fences, trellis systems, and irrigation systems.
    • Manage tools, clean the farm, and cultivate fruit rows.
  5. Pest and Disease Monitoring:
    • Monitor and report on pests, diseases, and irrigation probes.
  6. Support for Research Activities:
    • Aid researchers with tasks like collecting soil, leaves, and fruit samples.
    • Assist in maintaining farm buildings and infrastructure.
  7. General Farm Duties:
    • Perform tasks like soil and leaf sampling, making firebreaks, and other general activities.
    • Be flexible and willing to work overtime when necessary.

 Job Requirements:

  • Education: Must be able to read and write.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of farm experience, preferably with wine and table grapes.
