Who You Are

•    You have worked in a Petrochemical industry
•    You have experience in Fire Fighting
•    You have excellent problem solving skills
 

What You Have Done Before

Baseline:
•    HAZMAT Operations
•    NFPA 1001 Firefighter || Certificate
•    Grade 12 
•     Valid Code C Driver’s License 
•     Driver Assessment
•    Physical Fitness Assessment  
•    Valid Level III First Aid Certificate 
•    2 years in a Recognized Fire Brigade
•    Petrochemical Fire Fighter Experience

 

Advantageous:
•    Basic Ambulance Assistant registered with the HPCSA

What You Will Be Doing

Key Accountabilities

•    Implement SOPs to ensure that incidents are efficiently and effectively mitigated.
•    Utilize incident Management Strategies to ensure Life Safety is prioritized.
•    Strive to proactively reduce the number of emergency incidents.
•    Track and assist with Fire Safety Inspections.
•    Enforce compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
•    Prepare for emergencies by ensuring that all relevant equipment and vehicles are always fully available and operational
•    Support all Engen Business Units where required with respect to training, audits, equipment readiness.
•    Fulfil the Statutory appointment in terms of the Fire Brigade Services Act 99 of 1987.
•    Abide by the regulations of the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
•    Foster and sustain effective working relationships and rapport with the government authorities, business and management institutions

Professional Registrations:
•    SAQCC , HPCSA , SAESI

•    Durban/ Refinery
