Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair has a vacancy for a Bookkeeper at our Head Office in Bonaero Park. The successful applicant will report to the Manager: Finance.

Closing date: 08 October 2024
Location: Johannesburg

Description

  • Responsible for processing Journals.
  • Responsible for processing Refund approvals;
  • Responsible for balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Contribute to monthly review reporting;
  • Assist with year-end reconciliations for audit process;
  • Perform other functions as directed by the accountant;
  • Prepare reconciliation of GL accounts;
  • Support the Accountants with the following:

-Processing of Pastel Companies;

-All Stock and Order Related queries;

-Journals and month end procedures;

-Weekly/ Monthly/ Annual Reports;

-Highlight inaccuracies/errors/discrepancies etc.

  • Provide-assistance and support to team members in achievement of team goals.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field (Advantageous);
  • 5 or more years’ experience in a similar role (Essential);
  • Experience in Pastel Partner or similar system (Essential);
  • Willingness to work overtime as and when required;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Ability to work in a pressurized environment;
  • Deadline driven (Essential);
  • Accuracy and completeness of processing;
  • Knowledge of basic financial transaction i.e. Debits and Credits.
