Former Muvhango star Lesley Musina has taken on a new and exciting challenge in his acting career by joining the popular SABC1 drama series Skeem Saam.

He is best known for his portrayal of Ndalamo in Muvhango, Leitlho in Queen Modjadji, and Chief Magistrate Bonginkosi Khumalo in The Executives. Who is Fefo?

Lesley’s character, Fefo, is a complex and intriguing figure. Fefo is a promoter with a penchant for organizing beauty pageants. He initially crossed paths with Melita during her time as a beauty queen. However, romance wasn’t on the cards then, as Fefo was in a relationship with another beauty queen named Tilly.

“Melita was jealous of Tilly, seeing her as direct competition,” Lesley explained. Tragically, Tilly died under mysterious circumstances, and shortly afterward, Fefo and Melita began dating. Their relationship resulted in the birth of their daughter, Jacquie.

Despite their brief romance, Fefo always harbored suspicions that Melita was involved in Tilly’s death. Fourteen years later, he reappears in Melita’s life, seeking to reconnect with his daughter, Jacquie, whom he has contacted via social media. However, Fefo has ulterior motives and unresolved issues with Melita, making his return anything but straightforward.

Bringing Fefo to Life

Lesley relishes the opportunity to play Fefo, describing him as a daring and determined character.

“He’s a go-getter who never gives up. He always goes for what he wants and will do whatever it takes to get it,” Lesley said.

To bring authenticity to the role, Lesley drew inspiration from people he knows in real life who share Fefo’s bold and mysterious traits.

“He’s a multifaceted character, and I enjoy using different mechanisms to tell his story. I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds and where the writers take him,” he added.

Looking Ahead

While Skeem Saam is currently Lesley’s main project, he hinted at other ventures in the pipeline. For now, though, his focus remains on delivering a memorable performance in the series.

“I do have other projects coming up, but my main focus at the moment is Skeem Saam,” he confirmed.
