French club ready to pay millions for top Orlando Pirates star
French club Montpellier are reportedly monitoring Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Sesane.
The 24-year-old defender has been in exceptional form for his club this season. With Thapelo Xoki and Olisah Ndah injured, the young centre-back has impressed keeping a number of clean sheets this season. So far, he has played eight league matches for Orlando Pirates this season and has hardly put a foot wrong.
According to Soccer Laduma, the Buccaneers have set a price tag of R25 million on their star.
“The club (Pirates) has their own philosophy and way of dealing with the selling of the players and their sale amount depends on several different factors like age and experience. So for Sesane, they have calculated his value to be around R25 million. They are looking at his age, his experience, and the league in which he wants to be. All those things count hence the value of around R25m,” an insider told the publication.
The French club are reportedly looking for a young defender who features in the CAF Champions League and the Orlando Pirates star ticks all the boxes.
“They are looking for a young but experienced defender and now with Pirates playing in the CAF Champions League it is actually good for Thabiso,” the source revealed.
“It’s good because he is gaining the valuable experience that Montpellier are looking for. It will work to his advantage. Also with call-ups to Bafana Bafana, soon he will start playing and things will go well for him.”
