Sometimes in soccer, there are those bizarre moments where one has no choice but to root for their bitter rivals – Orlando Pirates fans will soon deal with these emotions.

AmaKhosi’s next game is against league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns on March 1.

The Buccaneers, who lost to the Brazilians 4-1 twelve days ago, are trailing nine points behind but have two games in hand, meaning six points are still up for grabs.

Hypothetically, if Orlando Pirates were to win both additional fixtures, they would be three points behind the defending champions.

And if Kaizer Chiefs pulls off a remarkable victory against Miguel Cardoso’s side – which they will be desperate to do after their 4-1 thrashing at the hands of SuperSport United on Tuesday – the Sea Robbers will be in striking distance of tying for first.

Will Saleng play this season?

There’s still no resolve regarding the future of Monnapule Saleng, Jose Riveiro refusing to offer any insight, telling the media, “I don’t speak about the health of my players; it’s something that belongs to a private space,” said Riveiro.

“And the moment that the club feels that it’s the time to speak about which players are injured, how long they are going to take, and which moment of the process (of recovery) they are in, they will do it. It’s not part of my job description, (and) it’s not an ethical thing,

“I know it will be nice to know how close is Olisa [Ndah] or [Goodman] Mosele and what’s happening with Saleng but it’s not going to happen.”
