Education & Experience
Applicants will be required to meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this role:
- Matric (High school diploma or equivalent).
- Previous experience in customer service, reception, or administration (experience in optometry, medical, or retail settings is advantageous)

Duties and Responsibilities
The role of the Frontliner involves the following duties and responsibilities to be fulfilled:
Patient Reception & Customer Service:
- Greet patients with a friendly, professional attitude and ensure a welcoming environment.
- Assist with check-ins and make patients feel comfortable while they wait.
- Address patient inquiries, offering information on services, products, and procedures.
Appointment Scheduling & Management:
- Manage patient appointments efficiently to maintain a smooth schedule.
- Confirm and remind patients of upcoming appointments.
- Handle rescheduling and cancellations as necessary.
Administrative Support:
- Accurately maintain and update patient records while ensuring confidentiality.
- Assist with insurance verification and processing claims.
- Perform general office duties, including filing, data entry, and organizing patient documentation.
Optical Product Assistance:
- Help patients choose eyewear, providing guidance on frame styles and lens options.
- Offer information on the various optical products and services available.
- Keep product displays organized and well-presented.
Billing & Payments:
- Process payments for services and products, including cash, card transactions, and medical aid claims.
- Resolve payment inquiries and assist with billing-related issues.
Coordination & Communication:
- Work collaboratively with optometrists and staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Effectively communicate with patients about appointment reminders, follow-ups, and promotions.
General Practice Support:
- Maintain a clean, organized front office and waiting area.
- Ensure that materials and supplies are adequately stocked.
- Assist with additional tasks as needed to support daily operations.
