,UNICEF, renowned worldwide for its unwavering commitment to protecting and empowering children in some of the most challenging environments, is seeking two experienced Digital Paid Media Consultants for a 12-month, remote, home-based engagement. These roles are part of UNICEF’s Digital Fundraising Team within the Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships Section (PSFP), based in Geneva, Switzerland. The objective is to enhance UNICEF’s digital fundraising efforts across multiple global markets, leveraging paid social and paid search strategies to maximize income and support the organization’s vital mission.

About UNICEF and the Digital Fundraising Initiative

UNICEF’s work spans over 190 countries and territories, aiming to reach every child—saving lives, defending rights, and unlocking potential. The organization’s digital revenue strategy aims to inspire, collaborate, and enable markets worldwide to improve digital fundraising results through innovative and integrated digital campaigns. The ultimate goal? To establish UNICEF as the largest and most successful non-profit digital fundraising program globally, increasing donations by optimizing digital channels alongside traditional fundraising methods such as telemarketing, face-to-face efforts, and TV campaigns.

The Role: Digital Paid Media Specialist (Social & Search)

The consultants will serve as digital marketing advisors, focusing on performance marketing and ad operations on platforms such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Google, Bing, and YouTube. While the primary focus will be on paid social and paid search, the role also offers exposure to programmatic display advertising, mobile DSPs, video DSPs, and direct publisher buys, including affiliate marketing. This is an opportunity to shape UNICEF’s digital outreach strategies through expert advice on ad account setup, campaign management, optimization, and testing.

Key Responsibilities and Scope of Work

The consultants will work closely with UNICEF’s teams to advise on and optimize paid media campaigns across 12 designated markets, which will be determined based on strategic priorities. The core responsibilities include:

  • Campaign Strategy & Execution: Advising on ad account setup, campaign configuration, media buys, audience targeting, budget management, and performance tracking to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Media Planning & Insights: Developing media plans based on historical performance data, audience insights, and competitive landscape analysis. These plans will include recommended budgets and projected conversions and income.
  • Channel & Campaign Audits: Conducting comprehensive reviews of existing campaigns and channels using tools such as Facebook Ads Library, Google Trends, Auction Insights, and SimilarWeb to assess structure, audience targeting, budget allocation, and optimization tactics.
  • AB Testing & Innovation: Recommending and testing new strategies, including beta features and emerging trends in Meta and Google advertising, to enhance campaign performance and engagement.
  • Reporting & Optimization: Preparing monthly deliverables—including media plans, audit reports, and AB test recommendations—aimed at improving digital fundraising results across each market.

Timeline & Deliverables

The consultants will deliver tailored outputs for each of the 12 markets according to the following schedule:

  • Market 1: by August 9, 2025
  • Market 2: by September 9, 2025
  • Market 12: by July 9, 2026

Each month’s deliverables will include:

  • A comprehensive media plan outlining proposed spend, estimated conversions, and income based on historical data.
  • An audit report evaluating campaign structure, audience segmentation, budget split, and optimization tactics.
  • AB test recommendations to explore new advertising strategies and creative approaches.

Qualifications & Experience

To succeed in this role, candidates should bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, digital media, computer science, or related fields.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in paid media marketing, digital fundraising, or digital advertising performance.
  • Proven expertise in managing and optimizing paid social (Meta) and paid search (Google) campaigns, including ad account management, performance analysis, and best practice implementation.
  • Experience handling multiple projects across at least five international markets, demonstrating strong organizational and strategic skills.
  • Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Facebook CAPI, Pixel, Google Tag Manager, and DoubleClick Campaign Manager is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional UN languages is advantageous.
