About GeoSUN Bursary
GeoSUN is accepting applications for 2025 academic year bursaries.
GeoSUN is a Stellenbosch-based company launched in 2012, originating from the University of Stellenbosch. The company specializes in providing a range of services and products for large-scale solar and wind projects across various African countries and beyond.
Its clientele includes developers, owners, and operators of such energy projects.
Bursary Benefits
The GeoSUN Bursary will cover the following expenses:
- Tuition Fees
- Registration Fees
- Books
- Total funding up to R 40,000

Note: The bursary does not cover accommodation, living allowances, or food.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry criteria to be considered:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Currently studying towards a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEng Tech) in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Mechatronic Engineering.
- Must have completed/passed the modules of the first two years of study.
- Will be in the final year of study in 2025, with the aim to graduate by the end of 2025.
- Must be enrolled in a recognized and accredited university of technology in South Africa (e.g., CPUT, CUT, NMU, TUT, etc.).
- There are no requirements regarding employment equity/race.
When applying, you must include the following mandatory documents:
- Updated CV (Curriculum Vitae) with a head-shot photo.
- Matric results.
- Copy of your ID.
- Academic results from your first two years of study.
- Any additional academic results (if applicable, e.g., from other qualifications).

Upon GeoSUN’s discretion, successful applicants may be offered a position as a junior technician at GeoSUN after completing their studies. Candidates are required to work for GeoSUN at their Stellenbosch offices for a minimum of 1 year at an industry-related salary.
