Global millonaires show strong interest inTrump’s R92m ‘gold card’
Trumps’ gold card creates hype amongst wealthy
US President Donald Trump recently introduced a ‘gold card’ worth $5 million (R92 million) to incentivize wealthy foreigners with the right to live and work in the US, with a path to citizenship.
Trump said sales of the new visa, a high-price version of the traditional green card, would bring in job creators and could be used to reduce the US national deficit.
Now, according to digital marketing agency, Outcomes Rocket, within hours of the announcement, Google search volumes skyrocketed, particularly in countries known for their high-net-worth populations.
Data from Outcomes Rocket revealed a huge surge in search interest from countries of the world’s biggest millionaires. These included:
- Singapore: +2,473% increase in searches.
- Dubai (UAE): +1,240% increase in searches.
- Japan: +1,415% increase in searches.
- Canada: +830% increase in searches.
- Germany: +447% increase in searches.
Other countries such as the United Kingdom, India, and Australia also expressed a mild interest, at 203%, 138%, and 90% respectively, demonstrating the wide spread of this news to affluent individuals around the world.
More millionaires
The data also showed that the countries with the largest increase in searches were also the fastest-growing millionaire markets:
- By 2028, Japan’s millionaires are expected to grow by 28%.
- Wealthy individuals in Canada and Australia will increase by 21%.
- Germany and India are experiencing a growth in their millionaire class as well (14% and 22% respectively).
Trump’s presidency has heavily emphasized extending incentives for people from the upper middle to upper class with reduced tax advantages, more economic stability, and the power of their passports. Having US citizenship has always been a dream of many people, thus the world’s ultra-rich now have even easier access to achieve this.
“The US has always been a top destination for affluent individuals, as we have had the highest number of millionaires in the world, at 21.9 million. To the global elites, this “gold card” is the perfect opportunity not only to secure better investment opportunities and safety but also to join the best and wealthiest socialite community.” Saul Marquez, CEO and Founder of Outcomes Rocket said
“Amid economic uncertainty in some parts of the world, Trump’s policy could stimulate global wealth migration, making the U.S. the ultimate haven for the rich around the world” Marquez added.
If you could afford it, would you apply for this card?
