When applying for a visa, applicants must provide valid proof of accommodation, such as a confirmed hotel reservation. For those planning on staying with friends or family, authorities require extra documents, including proof of where your host lives.

One-way or open-ended tickets will not be accepted and could lead to visa applications being denied. All visitors must hold a confirmed return ticket. The reason for this is to prevent people from overstaying their visas and to improve the overall travel experience by encouraging better planning.

There’s also a new requirement regarding financial proof. If you’re applying for a visa to Dubai, you need to show that you have enough money available on your credit or debit cards.

To get a Dubai tourist visa, you must show that you have enough money to cover your travel expenses. This includes the cost of food, transportation, and accommodation. You can provide proof of your financial resources with bank statements or salary slips.

The financial requirements are as follows:

For a two-month visa, visitors must have a minimum of 5 000 Dirhams (R24 552,27) available.
For a three-month visa, visitors must have a minimum of 3 000 Dirhams (R14 731,36) available.

Acceptable forms of proof include bank statements, credit card balances, or cash reserves. Authorities may also conduct spot checks for financial proof at entry points, so travellers should keep these documents readily available.
