Organisational Development (OD) and Performance Specialist

Icebolethu Group is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the permanent position ofOrganisational Development (OD) & Performance Specialist within the Group Human Resources Department. The position will be based at our office located in Durban.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Minimum Qualifications
• Honours degree or postgraduate diploma in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology or equivalent.
• Registration with the SA Board for People Practices (SABPP) is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Compulsory: Minimum of 7 years as an (Organizational Development) OD specialist & Performance Specialist role.

Key Performance Areas:
Organizational Development
• Design and conduct relevant organisational surveys using quantitative & qualitative methodologies providing management reports with (Organizational Development) OD recommendations.
• Establish and manage an on-line survey platform to monitor organisational health and effectiveness.
• Identify relevant (Organizational Development) OD interventions to improve the organisation climate and culture.
• Train Human Resources Business Partners & Line managers to effectively manage climate and culture change.
• Facilitate team development interventions, strategic planning, leadership development, organizational redesign, and change management.
Talent Management.
• Consolidate and Analyse exit interview reports.
• Act as custodian for the Competency Framework.
• Act as an ambassador for learning and growth.
• Coordinate the Coaching Programme including coaching impact.
• Coordinate an assessment centre working with external consultants.
• Coordinate the performance and succession planning systems.
• Act as custodian for annual performance and succession processes.
• Train supervisors and managers in performance and succession management.
• Manage Change Management interventions and projects across Icebolethu Group.
• Design and maintain the methodology for creation of positions, job matrix and job profiling.
• Audit job descriptions for consistency with internal policies and procedures potential strategic or operational changes.
• Designs job creation and profiling training for managers and HR Business Partners.
• Cooperate with human resources on grading of job positions.
Change Management
• Establish a Project Management and Reporting system for all (Organizational Development) OD initiatives.
• Be the liaison between external consultants delivering (Organizational Development) OD Projects.
Organizational Design
• Benchmark, develop and implement Organizational Design (OD) best practices policies and processes.
• Benchmark, develop and implement job design best practices policies and processes.
• Translate approved resource plan into the organogram and ensure it remains updated.
• Compile information on organizational system and structure.
• Project management of consultancy projects.

Employee Relations Specialist

The position will be based at our office located in Durban; the successful candidate will be required to perform tasks supporting Group Human Resources Manager.
Qualifications, Experience & Competencies
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in HRM/Industrial Relations/ LLB
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in insurance, retail, funeral and / or manufacturing environment.
• People management experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and work long hours.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Confidentiality, tact, and discretion when dealing with employees.
• Must be a team player.
• Valid driver’s license

Key Performance Areas:
• Act as the liaison between the senior management and the employees with regards to any HR and ER related matters.
• Provide employee relations guidance, explain and provide advice to management employees about company and governmental rules, regulations, and procedures, and need for compliance
• Facilitate disciplinary actions to be taken against employees, this will include the drafting of charges and coordinating disciplinary hearings.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions and poor performance management.
• To be the first point of contact to the business for all ER process and policy queries and/or issues.
• Ensure the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
• To provide an end-to-end case management service with regards to all ER processes, including but not limited to discipline management, poor performance management, grievance management and sick leave management
• Prepare & represent the employer at CCMA in conciliations, in mediation and arbitrations.
• Prepare relevant pleadings including but not limited to: objections, preliminary points, heads and closing arguments, oppositions to condonations, recissions etc.
• Prepare in house employee relations training material and conduct training in accordance with business unit need.
• Facilitate & conduct grievances, investigations, suspensions, disciplinary enquiries, appeals, incapacities and retrenchments.
• Ensure adherence to both substantive and procedural fairness in the above-mentioned areas as well as compliance with internal HR and ER standard operating procedures.
• Compile and report on employee relations activity on a monthly basis.
• Adhoc tasks allocated by senior management.
• Identify risk areas & advise on mechanisms to mitigate risk.
• Support Project tasks, plan and manage all projects within timelines, actively support and lead projects.
• Provide leadership to the operations.
• Provide training on employee relations, chairing of hearings and initiating hearings.
• Actively support change management.
• Excellent analytical abilities.
