The Role of the Country Administrative Assistant

Operational Support:

They will assist in coordinating visits from senior management, liaise with project stakeholders, and prepare briefing notes. Preparing briefing materials for meetings and official trips, drafting responses to inquiries, and following up on reports and deadlines are essential components of the role. The assistant will also handle travel logistics, visa arrangements, and support procurement activities, including processing payments and managing office assets. They may act as a backup for other administrative roles during absences or peak periods.

Administrative and Financial Functions:
Ensuring the integrity and transparency of office resources, the assistant will contribute to budget preparation, monitor sub-allotments, and assist with procurement processes. They will maintain accurate records, support contract close-outs, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a high school diploma in relevant fields such as social studies, economics, or related areas, with at least three years of secretarial or clerical experience. Knowledge of program support is desirable, along with a valid work permit for Cameroon. Fluency in English and French is essential, with proficiency in Spanish or Arabic considered an asset.

Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, initiative, and good judgment. ICT proficiency, especially in office management systems and digital tools, is vital.
