ONGOING WATER WOES FORCE CLOSURE OF HIGH COURT
The ongoing water crisis in Johannesburg does not only affect residents but has a ripple effect on infrastructure and other essential services including courts of law.
Recently, the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg temporarily closed its doors due to the ongoing water shortage gripping the city of gold.
The Office of the Chief Justice announced that the court ceased operations on Thursday, 13 February, citing a lack of water supply.
All court matters scheduled were rescheduled, with affected parties notified of alternative arrangements.
This was not the first time the court had to temporarily close due to lack of water supply. The closure highlighted the worsening impact of the water crisis on essential services and infrastructure in Johannesburg.
