What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at making the shopping experience smooth and enjoyable for our customers. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

  • Efficiently Manage POS Operations: You’ll handle the point of sale (POS) activities, ensuring every transaction is processed quickly and accurately.
  • Handle Payments with Care: From cash to card payments, you’ll ensure that every cent is accounted for while maintaining a safe and secure cash handling process.
  • Promote Our Clubcard: You’ll actively encourage customers to join our loyalty program and help them enjoy the benefits of being a Clubcard member.
  • Boost Sales with Promotions: Keep our customers informed about ongoing promotions, helping them save more while increasing sales for the store.
  • Deliver Top-Notch Customer Service: Be a brand ambassador by providing friendly, professional service that makes our customers feel valued.
  • Maintain Store Standards: From merchandising to housekeeping, you’ll ensure that the store looks great and products are well-displayed.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We’re looking for individuals who have the skills and experience to excel in this role. Here’s what we’re after:

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Math Skills: Basic calculations to handle transactions smoothly.
  • Retail Experience: A background in retail or FMCG will be a big plus.
  • Stock Management: Understanding how to manage and merchandise stock effectively.
  • Customer Service: A knack for making customers feel special.

Essential Skills:

  • Planning and organizing

  • Basic computer literacy

Qualifications

  • Essential: Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Desirable: Achieving 50% in Maths and English at Grade 12 level is an advantage.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role is beneficial but not mandatory.
