Thousands of people marched to the Department of Education offices in different provinces on Tuesday to submit memorandums.

Some of their demands included that an investigation into the matter be fast-tracked so that those responsible for violating the child could be arrested.

Three people, including the principal of Bergview College in Matatiele, have been identified as suspects.

The child’s mother said her daughter was raped in 2024 on school premises.

Angela Moleko is one of the march organisers.

“We are tired, guys. We have had so many victims of rape, sexual violence from men. We have had those victims and every time, seemingly, the incidents are swept under the rug.”
