Kaizer Chiefs are eyeing Royal AM winger Mfundo Thikazi.

The 25-year-old, who AmaKhosi have tried to land before, would provide versatility for Nasreddine Nabi’s team selections, able to be fielded on both flanks and behind the striker.

Interest confirmed

“Yes, it’s not the first time Chiefs have shown interest in him,” a Siya source confirmed.

“But in the past things were not finalized but as the way things are going now and looking at Royal AM’s situation, his move to Chiefs is possible. It could happen at the end of the season. Things are looking good and it could be good for the player as well.”

Thikazi’s current club, Royal AM, who have had all games in 2025 suspended, are on the brink of being expelled from the PSL due to their financial mishaps, unable to pay player salaries and rooted in R40 million worth of debt to SARS – meaning Kaizer Chiefs could get Thikazi for free.

Royal AM player’s up for grabs

Another Royal AM player Kaizer Chiefs are monitoring is goalkeeper Xolani Ngcobo.

“There were other teams that had also shown interest before but the one that has inquired about him in recent times after what is happening at the club is Kaizer Chiefs,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They have shown serious interest and have inquired. But with the current situation at Royal AM there is nothing much we can say,

“I think they will wait on what is going to happen first as they monitor the situation. But they are interested in him.”

Would Thikazi and Ngcobo be good signings for Kaizer Chiefs?
