Kaizer Chiefs have NO interest in Thulani Serero!

Kaizer Chiefs have NO interest in signing former Bafana Bafana attacking midfielder Thulani Serero.

Serero is currently a free agent and is training with Cape Town City in an effort to perhaps earn a short-term deal.

Now, according to a source known to Soccer Laduma, Chiefs rejected the idea of reigniting their interest in Serero the minute he became available.

And that is because of factors that have nothing to do with the player’s quality but their past experience.

In the past, Chiefs signed high-profile players from abroad, and most recently Keagan Dolly who was in France.

However, the majority of those players contributed very little towards the club’s success, and therefore, proved costly.

Now, with Chiefs struggling to find their feet, another big move would have meant they did not learn from their past mistakes.

“Chiefs wanted a well experienced midfielder like Thulani Serero but they had to look at the team’s past experiences with players like him who come at an expense and at times when things don’t work out for the team,” said the source.

“They didn’t want to have the same challenge they experienced when signing Keagan Dolly and Khama Billiat.

“Yes, they are different players but they believe that experience is the best teacher and they have learnt from that.”

“That was the main reason why they could not go ahead signing Serero though they know he is a good player but they had to consider other factors as well,” concluded the source.
