Kaizer Chiefs are hoping to rival Orlando Pirates for one of their new transfer targets while there’s also news on Bhengu.

Khanyi wanted by Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates

25-year-old Muzomuhle Khanyi has been causing a stir in the NFD, scoring goals for fun. He recently bagged a treble to further enhance his reputation as one of the best potential bargain deals available on the market. Although Pirates are stocked in this portion of the pitch with the prolific Tshegofatso Mabasa and relentless running power of Evidence Makgopa, there’s no such thing as too many good strikers.

Serero to City

Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Thulani Serero is a free agent and on the brink of signing for Cape Town City. Kaizer Chiefs fans want the former Ajax Amsterdam and FC Twente schemer in the engine room for Nasreddine Nabi’s side. The diminutive star has won 43 caps for South Africa in a distinguished career which has seen him enjoy club stints in the Netherlands and the UAE.

What could have been for Cream

No matter what the reasoning, it’s a shame that Serero never produced his best for the national team. 43 caps isn’t a bad tally by any means, but a player of his quality and European experience should have been more instrumental for his country. There were some disciplinary issues along the way, but that’s often part of the package with talented footballers.

Bhengu to Chiefs but at a big cost?

According to SoccerLaduma, Kaizer Chiefs want to bring former player Lungelo Bhengu back to the club. The 24-year-old defender came through the ranks at Naturena but was deemed not good enough and released in 2019 to Maritzburg. Bhengu, a right-back, is seen as an upgrade on current options Reeve Frosler and Dillan Solomons. His arrival would also allow the club to shift Njabulo Blom back into his preferred central midfield role.
