Kaizer Chiefs are willing to spend big on a player they nurtured through their academy despite letting him leave for free.

Kaizer Chiefs keen to bring Bhengu back

According to SoccerLaduma, Kaizer Chiefs want to bring former player Lungelo Bhengu back to the club. The 24-year-old defender came through the ranks at Naturena but was deemed not good enough and released in 2019 to Maritzburg. Bhengu, a right-back, is seen as an upgrade on current options Reeve Frosler and Dillan Solomons. His potential arrival would also allow the club to shift Njabulo Blom back into his preferred central midfield role.

Mdantsane also cost Chiefs a pretty penny

Kaizer Chiefs are still counting the cost of Mduduzi Mdantsane’s failed move from Cape Town City to Naturena. Not only was he a youth product they let go for free, but they then shelled out a big transfer fee for the playmaker only to loan him out to Richards Bay.

Saile sticks the knife in

Matsatsantsa’s 4-1 Betway Premiership win last time out against Kaizer Chiefs made it a league double over the Glamour Boys. Two former Chiefs players were on the score sheet for Gavin Hunt’s men, compounding the misery for Chiefs and their fans. Samir Nurkovic, who’s been with Royal AM since he left Chiefs, and Christian Saile were those two players. Congolese star Saile is on loan from Amakhosi so his goal against them will sting. In 56 appearances for the Glamour Boys, Saile notched seven goals and four assists.

Are Chiefs making the right decisions in the transfer market?
