Kaizer Chiefs set to cut ties with international star!
Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be ready to start phase two of their clear out and first under Nasreddine Nabi.
Chiefs are currently not enjoying the best of seasons under coachNabi, languishing in sixth place.
Should the club’s fortunes not improve, it’s believed that Nabi will have his first real clear out at the club. At the end of the previous season, Chiefs management were in charge of the clear out. They decided against renewing the services of some veteran stars, some of which, used to be key players. The likes of Keagan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti, Siyethemba Sithebe, Njabulo Ngcobo, Itumeleng Khune and Jasond Gonzalez were all released by the club.
Chiefs set for another clear out?
Depending on who survives in the current window, the next clear out, however, could be a bigger one. What would be more telling about it would be the fact that it would be mainly Nabi’s decision on who stays and goes at Chiefs. It could feature names like Zitha Kwinika, Mduduzi Mdantsane, George Matlou, Pule Mmodi, Happy Mashiane, Tebogo Potsane, Dillan Solomons. However, there could even be the likes of Bongani Sam, Given Msimango and Ranga Chivaviro.
Now according to Soccer-Laduma, however, another name that can be added to that list is Edmilson Dove. The Mozambican international was key to Chiefs in the last two seasons but not without injury problems. This year, they have meant he has played no part at all under Nabi. The publication reports it is the end of the road for the left-footer!
Dove to be a victim
“There was hope at some time that things could maybe work out for him (Dove) but at this point in time his future at Chiefs will be coming to an end at the end of the season when his contract expires. The team has reached that decision looking at the situation around the defenders and mainly left back that he is apparently not needed. The club is believed to have communicated with the player about their decision and since he is still recovering from the injury then they will wait until the end of the season before they part ways,” said the source to the same publication.
Chiefs fans would you be happy to see Dove go? Or does he deserve a chance to prove himself under Nabi inure-free? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
