Kaizer Chiefs striker will be seen in February
Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has lost a key option in his frontline.
ASHLEY DU PREEZ OUT
Speaking to the media before facing Golden Arrows on Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nabi revealed that the 27-year-old forward, with three goals, will be out injured for the next four weeks. “Ashley Du Preez is out after having to come off against Stellenbosch and, according to estimates from our medical staff, could be back within four weeks,” Nabi told the media before the game.
FIACRE NTWARI LEAVING KAIZER CHIEFS?
Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly planning to make a quick decision in the goalkeeping department. Five months ago, this was not expected at all by the Amakhosi faithful.
The 24-year-old Burundian goalkeeper joined Amakhosi in August 2024 from TS Galaxy. He briefly owned the gloves before a few errors and an injury on international duty cost him his number-one spot at Kaizer Chiefs in November 2024. According to Soccer Laduma, the Soweto Giants are considering a loan deal to recruit Zambia’s Toaster Nsabata.
“The club has identified that the department is a bit shaky and that’s why they have enquired about Zambia national team goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata,” the report said. “But to bring him in they need to at least release one or loan one goalkeeper and they are considering loaning out Ntwari at the moment. It’s not clear whether it would in January or at the end of the season. For now, the main focus is one goalkeeper at a time, and are going at the moment,” the report added.
