Kaizer Chiefs are hoping to sell the misfiring Christian Saile amid hopes to bring in more attacking talent.

The 25-year-old has failed to impress AmaKhosi management, recording zero goals in six games this season following four in thirty last season, showcasing Saile’s drop in form.

According to Transfermarkt, Saile’s value is R8.7 million, a figure Kaizer Chiefs will hope to meet amid PSL interest.

Chippa United was the first to show interest in the DR Congo international, and they are now joined by Gavin Hunt’s SuperSport United.

Khune back’s Chippa move

Kaizer Chiefs icon Itumeleng Khune believes Saile will enjoy life at Chippa United, saying, “But I think if Chippa United eventually sign him, they will make use of him, but with Kaizer Chiefs, I doubt.”

The former Bafana goalkeeper is a fan of Saile, and believes a move away could elevate him back to his best:

“Saile’s strength is to run at defenders, but he has not shown that since coach Nasreddine Nabi took over,

“Remember when he came, he used to bang in goals. He used to take on defenders, creating opportunities coming from the right-hand side as a left-footed player.”

Appollis deal unlikely in January?

Kaizer Chiefs are hoping a Saile sale will provide financial wiggle room to sign Polokwane’s Oswin Appollis – however, a deal materialising in January is unlikely.

“It won’t be easy for them [Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates] in January,” KickOff confirmed.

“A deal in January leaves the club little chance to find a replacement. So, there is already that. Then if it’s a local team, then that’s another problem, you see. But it’s football, anything happens, but it would be crazy money for him now.”
