Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly eyeing IFK Värnamo’s Luke Le Roux.

It’s been five years since the Bafana Bafana midfielder last resided in South Africa, starting his career at Stellenbosch, managing only one appearance, before flocking to SuperSport United. Again, he failed to make an impression, taking to the field three times in three years.

Then Sweden’s Verbergs BolS came calling; three seasons later, he got picked up by Eerste Divisie’s FC Volendam before settling at IFK Värnamo in 2024.

A return to the PSL is on the cards as Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns monitor the 24-year-old. According to an inside source, Le Roux’s agent is pushing for a Masandawana move.

Nabi defends Morris

Kaizer Chiefs striker Tashreeq Morris has been criticised for his lack of output since joining in January, but head coach Nasreddine Nabi has come to his defence.

“We have to evaluate players on the many games they play. Today’s team was very tired,” Nabi said after their 4-1 defeat to SuperSport United.

“It’s an exceptional game, bus as I said, we cannot evaluate players just on this game. This game should not be used as a reference,

“In the previous game, Tashreeq gave his all, he gave all his energy, and you could see today that it has impacted his physical strength.”

Salum to Kaizer Chiefs?

“Feisal Salum has made his decision and informed the club that he will not extend his contract,” Africafoot.com reported.

“He is enjoying his experience at Azam, a big club, but he wants to explore new opportunities at the end of the season,

“A move to Kaizer Chiefs? It is still too early to say for sure, but it is a very serious possibility.”
